Hi, my name is Kirsten from the UK. I am raising funds to enable Thaier- a 36 year old journalist from Gaza- and his family to survive by providing basic essentials such as food, medicine and rent for his 17 family members including his young nieces and nephews.

Thaier and his family are in imminent danger of death through starvation. No aid has come into Gaza for over 2 months now- basic essentials such as fuel, clean water and flour are scarce and extremely expensive- the family have no electricity and no clean water- they suffer from multiple health conditions with no access to even the most basic medical care.

Without your support Thaier and his family would be forced to try and survive the elements on the streets- tents for such a large family would be difficult to find and expensive, and do not provide protection from the harsh winter conditions or the summer heat.

We are also trying to raise money to enable Thaier to evacuate to Egypt when the crossing opens for normal civilians so that he can be reunited with his wife Suad and son Fares (4) who rely solely on him to survive. Thaier managed to evacuate them both to Egypt before the crossing closed and is desperate to be reunited with them. He has been separated from them for 10 months now- the pain of not being with his son and not knowing if he will ever be reunited with him is unbearable for him.

We do not know exactly how much will be charged by the authorities to allow Thaier to cross, but previously the amount asked has been at least $5000-$10000.

Thaier has lost everything he worked so hard for his whole life, including his home, his business and his job.

Thank you for being here, any donation, however small, will collectively contribute to giving this family hope.

About me-

I am a registered nurse for the NHS and a mother to two young children. The donations received are sent directly to Thaiers wife Suad in Egypt, who is then able to make transfers to Thaier in Gaza.

Dear friends and ,

First, we want to sincerely thank everyone of you who has donated to help Thaier’s family in Gaza during these unimaginable times. Your kindness and generosity have brought real hope and relief to people who have almost nothing left.

But today, we need your help more than ever. Due to censorship on Palestinian content on Instagram, visibility of Thaier’s posts has dropped, and as a result, donations have declined, just as conditions on the ground are becoming even more desperate.

Food prices have soared beyond reach — a single bag of flour now costs $400, double what it was just weeks ago. Basic survival is becoming almost impossible. In addition to the war and blockade, Thaier’s family has faced a new danger — gang robbery that stripped them of the little they still had.

Due to the lack of food, most of the time, the older members of the family are forced to keep food for the children or share spoiled food that has gone bad. Thaier is struggling every day not only to find enough food and clean water for the whole family, but also to keep his sanity and hope to see his son amidst these unthinkable circumstances. Your support has been a lifeline for them — and it still is.

That’s why we are reaching out again today: Please, if you can, continue to stand with us. Every donation, no matter how small, makes a real difference. And if you can’t give right now, even sharing this message helps more than you know.

Let’s keep hope alive for those who are suffering so much — and show them they are not forgotten.

With deep gratitude, Kirsten Skusa
